Friends of Banham School (FOBS)
For current FOBS news and events visit the Friends of Banham School Facebook page.
Friends of Banham School (FOBS) is a charity run by parents/guardians who offer their time and ideas for the benefit of all pupils at Banham Primary School.
We promote, organise and run a mix of fun activities for the children and fundraising events to purchase items chosen by staff, parents or children for the benefit of the children at the school.
Quiz nights, Christmas and Autumn fairs, school discos and Summer tea parties are just a few examples of the events we have held in the past. Other fundraisers have included a weekly cake raffle, successful bike-a-thon, Spree books as well as plant and ice cream sales.
Phonics books, reading books, playtime and sports equipment, large construction equipment, a stage and picnic benches are some examples of items provided through FOBS fundraising.
The FOBS have also funded a visit from author Thomas Taylor, Christmas parties with entertainers and leavers discos.
If you would like to be involved, we would love to hear from you! We are a small, friendly group and there is no pressure, you can choose to be involved as much or as little as you would like.
Please contact the school office who can put you in touch with a member of the FOBS team.

Thomas Taylor the author of the 'Malamander' series and illustrator of J.K. Rowlings Philosopher's Stone came to visit. Swifts had been enthralled by the story Malamander and after a visit to 'Eerie-on Sea' (Cromer) Mr Taylor came to answer our questions, inspire us with his special beach combing finds and help us create our own fabulous creatures. Who knows these characters may feature in our own creative stories in years to come!
We were amazed at all the things that inspired his writing!
Individually we spotted different things about different objects.
We asked our own interesting questions.
Do you know he secret behind the wizard illustrated in the Philosopher's Stone?
What can a scribble be turned into?
Many interesting and inspiring objects.
Our creatures had some interesting diets!
We thought about names for our characters.
We considered where our characters may live.
Our very own signed copy of a Thomas Taylor book!
A sneaky character appeared in each book!
We are all excited to read the next addition!
Thank you Thomas Taylor and FOBS!
